Valeria Amirkhanyan was born in a closed Siberian town where nuclear waste is still stored. Lifeless desert polygons, where there is not a single tree, created the dull look of her hometown. She received two educations in painting and landscape architecture, which are closely intertwined in her artworks. During her student days, she was the host for a year. Now, she runs an art studio, where she teaches painting and grows over 50 types of plants.
