Summer is here, and with it comes the latest from 86 Logic.
As always, we are proud to bring you fresh and exciting work from artists with roots in the service industry. 86.4 cover artist, Andrew Tresler, invites you to grab a seat and relax. There’s a place for you here.
We have some firsts this time around—86.4 marks the first time we have published a play (*86 by Erika Vetter, page 21), a book excerpt (upcoming memoir Nice Work Boys! by Hanalei Souza, page 68), and a recipe (Ghosts of Tortellini Past by Shell St. James, page 55). Our summer issue is our most varied publication to date. We explored new ways to combine visual art with the written word, which helped us create a smoother and more precise curation. You’re not going to want to miss our interview (Good People Make Good Beer...Labels, page 72) with Josué Caceres, founder of BX Writers, an artist collective dedicated to empowering writers from the Bronx. Nor do you want to skip our recurring comic “Space Bar.” Volume 3 explores some possible ramifications of A.I. at the host stand.
